Raised in a highly artistic household in the NJ burbs of NYC he was playing piano at age three, drums at nine, sequencing Michael Jackson songs on his dad’s Korg M1 at age eleven. His early influences included typical 90s rock and golden age hip hop and later jam bands, funk, world music and acid jazz. His pro career began while still studying at the University of the Arts with developing Universal recording artist Melody Gardot, drumming and co-producing her debut album Worrisome Heart and drumming on her seminal multiple grammy-nominated album My One and Only Thrill, produced by Larry Klein, released in 2009. The same year his beat slinging landed a placement as co-writer/co-producer of The Roots' single Get Busy on album Rising Down. His playing around town caught the attention of legendary guitarist Jef Lee Johnson and he became a mainstay member of his trio, regularly touring Europe and drumming on the trio album Zimmerman Shadow. He also had many solid runs with The Blue Method, Tigersapien, and Mike Taylor. From jazz to funk to EDM to pop, his career continues to take him all over - from the USA to New Zealand; from the Vans Warped tour to the Paris Jazz Festival; From the edges of the globe to the edges of the digital realm.
